No, fog lights are ment to be used in the fog and will never have an option to automatically come on. I'll have to admit though, sometimes during dawn or dusk I drive around with just the angle eyes and fogs on. The "mean" look.?

Lomag, sorry to correct you, but you say it will never have an option.... actually, it is only recently that BMW did away with this.. On all my BMW's through 2002, the foglight switch was a push-type toggle switch.. either on, or off!

I didn't realize the change until I got my X5, and was told that it is actually illegal to run fog lights in the USA, or at least in some states, without a necessity. at least that was posted on other boards...

My friend used to have a ML320 w/ 2 extra fog lights on top of its 2 headlights and 2 foglights, it sum up to be 6 lights. I once drove his car during a heavy snow storm in the night, due to the visiblity, I turned on all 6 lights, and ended up got pull over by O.P.P. (Ontario Provincial Police) and ticketed for $115CDN for having more than 4 driving lights.

Oh, he does... He actually was complaining that M5 does not appear to have them...

He just don't like them when there's no... errr.... FOG?!?

And I back him 100%... In Europe, usually you get fined for driving with them when there's no need for them.

What's wrong with having the same opinion as Iceman? More than this, he expressed it first here, so I was giving him credit...

As for admiring Iceman, WHO ON THIS BOARD IS NOT?!? Just look at his options man!
