just wondering if there is anything i should know before disconnecting the battery in a pre-lci e60 so i can remove the airbag module on the steering wheel.
i assume all the idrive settings get saved, such as stations, sound settings, etc.
apart from that is there anything else to note?

The best way to do it is like this:
Get access to the battery, now leave the car for 16 mins. Don't open or close any doors. After 16 mins the car will go to sleep and the light next to Park will go out. Now (using a 10mm socket) undo the battery negative and lift it off cleanly.
If you do this the car won't log any faults at all. Only the time of day on the clock will be reset, and the trip counter.

so close all doors, leave boot open, after 16 mins remove negative cable and make sure boot does not close or its game over since rear seats do not fold.
after the 1 6mins will the boot light go off too as an indication or that stays on all the time when boot is open?
thanks.
