Hi Guys,
My Car is a 12/12/2007 525d 3.0l
My Car has recently returned from my local westerly bmw dealer after an oil service, replaced pressure pipe, replaced oil seperator and new discs and pads.
I now can not get on my i drive screen the interval for changing my pollen filter. The icon is no longer in the i drive service interval screen as it was before. I returned to the dealer and they have told me that the oil service indicator and the pollen filter service indicator were reset after the work had been carried out and there is no way of getting it back on my i drive as it was before.
The Oil interval service indicator is still there just not the pollen/cabin filter indicator.
They are adament that its nothing theyve done and was i sure it was there in the first place but insist that once its not on there its gone for ever. Now i know i have done nothing to irradicate the icon so where do i stand.
Does any one know if it can be put/turned back on.
I would appreciate your help guys

All I can share is that on US LCI models(post 03/07) the pollen filter indicator is not accessible in the iDrive service menu. All it has is smog/emissions checks, vehicle check, brake fluid, oil change, and front/rear brake pads. Maybe a software update caused it to be removed? I know that when I changed my cabin air filters last spring, the dealer here in Dallas had to reset it for me, even though the car wasn't explicitly telling me it needed a new pollen filter - it was only showing that it needed new cabin filters during a key read. Of course my super-nice-dealer in Dallas turned it off for me(because I agreed to a $100 brake flush and a $200 power steering fluid flush). Thanks BMW Of Dallas, you're always so eager to lend a hand when I spend a fortune on over-priced fluid changes.

I recal reading the pollenfilter now is serviced together with the oil from the LCI model on.

The calulation used for the pollenfilter didn't work properly, its impos to predict how good the filter is without doing actual measurements (Sofar as I know nothing is measured). In mine (2007 pre-LCI) the service interval was acting weird, it went down at least twice as fast as it was indicating. Then when it almost went to 0 and I got the warning service is needed it shooted up to 2000 again.

That pollenfilter serice interval is useless and I want it deleted. I will change the filter at the next oil change service.

I think they have probably upgraded the software in your car too. The new software dropped a few of the items and have made them replacement items at fixed intervals. The microfilter was one of the dropped items.
