Disabling seat belt later in 2004 545i?
"SEAT BELT ALERT" = correction in the title.
Is it possible? I just picked up the car yesterday. The seat belt alter is making me go mental. I love the car but this thing reminds of a rental vehicle.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

If you don't want to buckle up... (what I don't comment any further...
) ...you can buy a spare buckle and plug it in, so the car thinks you are buckled up.

Thanks guys. I realize that not wearing a seat belt is a safety concern however its my personal preference. I choose not to wear a seat belt. I paid over $80k (CDN) for this car and I'll drive the way I want it.
Wondering if they can do anything about this at the dealership? After all I'm sure its as easy as adjusting a setting on their software.

You can open it yourself and disarm it permanently (do a search on it) or you can buy a buckle that you plug in and leave it in all the time.

. back to topic, we have newbies ask the same question every now and then. i personally don't really have problem with this but i wonder why bmw doesn't change it. i know it's a safety feature/reminder but all other cars don't have this annoying, for some, chime. well, probably this is one of the features that makes our cars unique
