Thanks!

LOL... so you needed verification huh. Well thanks Rudy for the proof!

Rudy,

Thanks for the post. Is the dipstick also in the N54 3.0 Turbo Engine?

Ponster
No dipstick on the N52 -- they eliminated it and instead use an "oil condition sensor." See the following document for more information:

Understand your point... plus I am new to E60 Forums. But rest assured, I will never say anything that is not fact. Why spend time in a forum if nobody answers your posts because you are labled as crack-pot that will say anything? Ya know? Not my style!

Oh man, here I am on another board (Luxury mfg that starts with L) always talking about how we have dipsticks in our cars (they love to bash BMW's for new thinking) and you guys didn't know we had it?

Personally, I still see no reason for it - I prefer to check my oil while driving with the I-Drive....

Does my car have a dipstick? I see the dipstick tube in my car but I?m not able to pull the dipstick out of the tube. So, I don?t know if I have a real dipstick and I just don?t know how to pull it out or is it a remnant from previous production models.

Rudy says the N52 engine doesn?t have a dipstick but I don?t know if this also applies to the N62. Thanks for any help.

2007 550i Production date 11/2006, 37K miles
