With a small discount, I was quoted just over $2100.00 installed. 3 hours of install for the CAI and 8/10s of an hour for the throttle body. To me, this seems waaayyy high for a CAI and throttle body. 3 hours install ? Are they teaching a class? Anyone else get quotes, pls share.

You also get the Dinan after-market warranty--which is essential IMO. The quotes are in the ballpark--without doing the calcs. You should expect 10% off on the parts; the intake is a big install.

I was given 5% dealer to dealer. I assume the warranty is included in the price. BTW, what possible damage could those mopds do anyway? I thought they were pretty risk free.

It is not clear that they could do any damage. However, if BMW claims that an after-market part has caused a BMW part to break, then you will need to depend on your after-market supplier to cover the repair unless you want to go places I would not want to go--court, etc. IMO, Dinan is the best in this regard.

do you have to have them installed by the dealer to get the warranty?

You need to have them installed by a Dinan certified shop--which many dealers are. My preference is to go to a BMW dealer that pushes Dinan sales. I think you are ahead by dealing with a Dinan-enthusiastic BMW dealer. They like the Dinan-related $ coming in so, IMO, they are more likely to be Dinan-mod tolerant.
