Yes, BMW should give us text through idrive - and it can be done.
I think the settop box is the better option. It has a remote, it has text, it has AV input. But the driver can't switch stations with the buttons on the steering wheel or the idrive knob - you can only do it with the remote... But the remote allows control of the box for everybody in the car...
