I reckon it has happened to me on a number of un-noticed occasions because it wasn't off for long enough (only a few seconds at a time) and I didn't happen to look down while it was off.

One one occasion I thought I caught a flash and when I looked down it was OK. I reckon it had gone off and I was lucky to notice the slight increase in brightness when it came back. Didn't pay any attention to it at the time (thought I was seeing things) but remembered it when I actually noticed the info panel off.

You may not even notice it disappearing during daylight hours and also when driving, you are looking forward at the road ahead and the info panel is at (or beyond) the edge of your peripheral vision. So I reckon it's a regular feature. <_<

 

ummm well since you are on CIP 16.x already adn it still did happend so than it may not be the software to blame how about some mechanical (hardware) prob?
someone mention that the gauges display gets too hot???? well as I remember it did happend to me on a very hot day after the car was on the sun the whole day

I dunno. I dont think its heat... It was early in the morning and it wasnt hot... like 60s and I was driving for like about 10 mins before it happened... defently not long enough to heat up. I only noticed it because I was down shifting for a turn on a freeway interchange and wanted to see what gear i was in and i noticed it blank out and then came back on like in 5 seconds. So from this I have to rule out "heat," at least for my occasion...

 

How many are still experience this? any resolution? mines still happening once every few days for very short period of time... like a few seconds... almost looks like its rebooting itself.

 

happened to me twice for like 20 secs long time ago,never since upgrade to 16 cip(i think its 16?)
