I am fairly new to the e60 and I hope this isn't too n00bish of a question but......

Are there any External differences between the 08 and 09 535xi's? I'm looking to get the MTECH kit but I can only find pricing for 08 models...Would they fit an 09?

Also I'm looking to get the Dinan stage 2 software and also that was only available up to 08 model....is there any chance that it will not work for 09?

I hope to meet a bunch of you soon, i've been a very active member on e46fanatics for many years!

AFAIK 08 and 09 models are the same, but I vaguely recall a thread regarding different part numbers for the 08 and 09 e60 for the front m tech bumper via http://www.realoem.com/bmw/

try price checking and confirming part numbers with Gary Romani @ Newport BMW

his info here: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=18067

when yo get the chance, may want to post your location as it helps to recc local vendors and/or future q's

I also posted in another thread regarding M tech purchasing

http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=784407

vendors mentioned there would be your best bet for quality and price, prices will be a bit more for the LCI e60's due to extra mounting/bracing pieces....GL

Welcome to the board, and to the XI community. I also have a 535xi, have ordered the m-tech kit, new VMR wheels, and a bunch of other goodies. I was planning on driving to Seattle (from Spokane) to have the Dinan Stage II upgrade installed. I changed my mind this past weekend. I'm already driving way to freak'n fast and I surely don't need another 80 HP. Consider this instead... This is what I did. Take the 2K, invest it in some very aggressive stocks (growth like Genworth, or stable like GE). In four or five years, the returns on that stock could be rather sweet. Wouldn't your current 535xi, and the sale of your stock make a nice down towards a new model BMW? Look up the F10. By then, the bugs will be worked-out!

Now, if you have money flip'n out of your tail, and love horsepower, then go have fun... Get the Dinan!!

Hahaha thanks for the advice but I still have the mod bug from my e46. Its fairly heavily modified so I gotta do some things to this car before i'll be happy...

My future mod list looks like this:

25-30% tints all around
VMR 19" V710's or V715's Hypersilver
V1 Hardwired
Dinan Stage II

BTW, I read somewhere that BMW is going to stop producing 09's in March and from then on will be making 10's. I think it was on Bimmerfest. I have no idea why such a short production run for the 09's and why such an early production run for the 10's. They usually start around Oct, but March?

That's !

The Dinan software for the 09's might not be out yet. The DME version has changed as software version. You may want to call and talk to Dinan After you get your car , since they will have the most up to date info on if they have the correct flash for your production date.

09's looks like they had a 6 month production run the 10's look to start delivery in March ( but I expect a delay due to the plant being closed or fer lowed due to the massive sales drop , and the issues with the Russian vs. Ukraine gas cut off for suppliers making parts).

Also if you ordered Nav you will get the New version of iDrive and HD radio standard. The non nav just get the new controller like on the 09's

Does this mean good deals on 09's since they may be piling up on the lots?
