I bought a used set of 128i rims that are in great shape. They are 17x7 with a 47mm offset. I want to put these on my 2008 535xi which currently has 17x7.5 with a 43mm offset. I know with the offset the will be ok. Will I notice any difference with .5 inch difference in the rim width? Obviously I'll have a lesser footprint, but I think that with the 4mm gained in the offset that should make it almost to where the current stock wheels sit looking at the profile of the car...correct?

is this a temporary set of wheels, or a permanent one? going smaller than what the manufacture recommends is not something I personally would do. I believe wider is better, but to a certain degree as well.

They ended up fitting and look perfectly fine.
