Hi,

I just change from a e60 520i to a e60 530d manual...
When I drive uphill i feel approximately at 3500rpm a slight loss of power when i expected to rev up more consistently to 4000, 4300 rpm ?

Is this a common issue ? I was expecting to be stronger since the max power is at 4000 rpm ...

Do you have any clue of what could be my problem ?

Thank You All,
BShark

Hmmm ... New car? Turbo? Injectors? Timing? Fuel pump? Your expectation seems reasonable. I've got the Auto version and don't seem to have that problem. But then, the Auto won't rev that high unless you flick it into Manual, which I rarely do. Irrespective of driving style, you've got a flat spot that I don't seem to have. If it's a new car check with your dealer.

virgil, out!

No such issues here, the only time i experience any flat spots or loss of power is during particle regen process, although even then very minor, mines auto too.

Seems strange, i find that providing the car decides your in the appropriate gear to accelerate, then application of the throttle in that gear will result in high revs before upshift in drive. ie. if the car has just upshifted to 2nd or 3rd, pressing throttle will result in very rapid accel and upshift rpm will depend on how much more the pedal has been pressed., which can be anything up to 4-5k.
DS will just hold onto the gear longer without having to press the pedal so much.

I've just remembered that the car was left out of diesel, by the dealer, a short time ago.
Today i'll drive a long distance and hope that some cleansing can be done... (fingers crossed)

I'll keep you posted...

I Still have to drive throw a mountain speedway, just to clear my mind, but nothing happened this long driving weekend
Everything seems to be ok, a light difficult to increase speed after 250km/h

Thank You all for the support.
