Of course this is a little sarcasm, for those "sub-forum" types who want to exclude their talk from the rest of us.
A serious question though.
I'm wondering if 1/4 mile times would be faster if I changed gear at around 3000-3500 RPM, instead of 4500. As the maximum torque is from 2000 RPM, then perhaps going up to 4500 before changing is slower.
On the road I have tried both. It feels about the same, although it's too difficult to tell. Certainly there isn't the same feel as a petrol engine, where you have to redline to get the most out of it.
Anyone got any thoughts on this?
If I go to to Santa Pod again I'll try it anyway. Would be good to compare:
remapped 530d Vs 530d
remapped 530d Vs 535d
remapped 535d Vs 535d
anything petrol Vs remapped 530d, 535d, remapped 535d

One dealer told me that you would getter better times with the auto cause the box changes at optimum rpm's and in a diesel one tends to over rev the engine past torque peak.
This may be true but I still feel that the auto tends to also rev to high with pedal to the metal driving.
I have also oftem wondered if I could do better in step. mode specially when having a good race light to light.
