If only the US had "no speed limit"

One thing I notice that people always move back to the right when someone faster is approaching.

That RARELY happens in the US.
Too many soccer moms w/ huge SUV camping slow on the left lane
People in America are not good enough drivers to make no speed limits possible. Stupid teenagers would abuse the privelage.

Just wanted to share the vid.
Thanks for sharing!

Actually that was 262 km/h.

The faster the car went, the less the consumption.

The diesels are fantastic!

That was because the consumption was set in km/liter instead of the more common L/100KM

Nope, unfortunately no dyno info.
It's an auto (fun to see it shifts up one more time at 225km/u )
I meant DieselRussFilter or DieselParticleFilter.

Well, here in Holland, rarely anybody moves out of the way, but in Germany, they know you can go faster so they just move over. They just respect faster cars.
What i also noticed is that Germans are very strict drivers, they do drive very fast, but they stick to the exact middle of a lane. I've never seen anybody even touch a white line.

It looks like 262 because it's filmed from the side, from my point of view it just stopped exactly at 260.
And yes, the consumption was set to km/l, because that's what i use most (most people in Holland just say: i get 15km's per liter)
If you look closely between the beginning of the movie and the end of the movie, you can actually see the diesel meter go down
At 260 it isn't exactly economic.
When doing 140-160km/h on cruise control i get between 14 and 16km/l, which i think is incredible for a 3 liter diesel. My Alfa never topped 14km/l.

/edit:
Oh, and yes, i have a particle filter, it's standard in Holland.

Don't you have to have winter tyres in Holland? It's the law here in Germany now. I'm restricted to 210kmh until I get my summers on in a month or so. I wonder what the law is for non-German registered cars (from Holland).

Nope, it's optional. I currently have my summers on the car (changed them a week ago) (Dunlop SP Sport Maxx ZR+ tyres, top speed is rated in excess of 300kph)

We still have snow in Bavaria, and more expected tomorrow. I doubt I can switch until middle of April

nice vid ! must be nice to drive that fast w/o worriyng about cops or police. How does the car feel/handle at that speed?? did you have room for more in the gas pedal, or were you down to the floor?
If we get caught driving that fast over here forget it! probably loose your licence, your car impounded, and really hefty fines!
