Well, went to Germany last sunday, just wanted to know what the car could do.
The car is chipped, so the limiter is removed and got some more horses (and lots more torque, over 600NM's!).
Too bad the speedo seems to be capped at 260, it doesn't move one mm after that, while the car was still accelerating.

Anyway, can't believe the speed for a "simple" 3 liter diesel.

Youtube link

Just wanted to share the vid.

Always a joy driving on "the autobahn". Mine does 235-240kmh GPS max. Does your car have DRF/DPF and is it a stick or auto?

Nope, unfortunately no dyno info.
It's an auto (fun to see it shifts up one more time at 225km/u )

Ahh, the autobahn. Always nice.

Drove it once with the 525i and did a top at 225 or somewhere like that. I will be picking up a 540i - 2007 next week, we'll she what she can do

I wonder what the OBC average speed would read if reset? Perhaps this would go beyond 260?

Yeah, i knew about the menu, just didn't know exactly how to get to the menu, and i was quite bummed that i didn't find out before i did the run.
Anyway, i'm returning to Germany this weekend for a short vacation, so i'll try to shoot some more vid's with the menu on.
I'm going into a mountainy area though, so i don't know if i'll find some decent unlimited roads.

If only the US had "no speed limit"

One thing I notice that people always move back to the right when someone faster is approaching.

That RARELY happens in the US.
Too many soccer moms w/ huge SUV camping slow on the left lane

Very nice. I especially liked it when the white car moved out of your way to let you pass. Here in the states you would have been sitting on his bumper because many people have the tendency to think that if they are going 70 in a 55 zone, then it's fast enough and you shouldn't pass them. Did that make sense???
