did anybody else get the recall letter?

Just recieved the letter from bmw north america. It says there is a problem with the software. if i were to to get a smog check i more than likely not pass. the engine control module needs to be upgraded with the latest obd software. takes about 1 day ( more like 2-3 days 
)

I got the recall letter today. i wonder what will happen if i don't do this. Fail the smog check? hmm...problem is, all the dealership is full of recalls and I won't get in until next month!

i got the letter today and will call in for an appointment tomorrow. hopefully, yes, hopefully i can have my software update at the same time. hope the service advisor won't tell me the same thing again

Loaner. 04 X5 3.0i. Fully loaded, even rear heated seats, PDC, NAV, CD Changer (with cds in it!!!).
