Hi Guys,

Anyone knows a good generic BMW diagnostic tool or specific to 5Series (525i '04 E60) for reading all the electrical faults with codes? If it is reasonably priced, I would like to buy one as indy's here in Oz would charge stupid. If I can I use the same tool on other manufacturer that will be a plus (sorry if I am sounding newby, I am).

Cheers.

If I were you I would purchase the Dcan cable and get the diagnostic codes myself using my computer. The cable would cost about the same as a good code reader and enables you to a world of fun with your car.

MOney should be no objective when i comes to an expensive machine (car)

yeah the BMW coding website the way to go, especially if you're new to the scene. It has a great newbie write up. it's where I learned everything I need to know about holding.
