Default Which diagnostic equipment for E60.

I am a DIY guy and I like to repair my car myself. So I wanted to buy a reasonable price diagnostic equipment for my E60. Please suggest me brand, make but not too pricey.Thank you.

That means is it pre-LCI or LCI. There is a difference in protocols that are used.

Search for BMW Scanner on ebay. Reasonable for what it does.

I use BMW CAN Tool OBDII Read & Clear Codes - BurgerTuning.com on my 535i (N54 Engine), it is $129.00 and I use it to read/delete codes. Codes read on the device use HEX numbers and can be looked up on http://www.peakeresearch.com/manuals...201.0%20NA.pdf

I wouldn't buy a BMW scanner. Buy real BMW tools. You don't just want to read/delete codes, you want to be able to diagnose issues and program ecu's or modules in the car. I got my stuff from euautohaus. They're on ebay or on web.

euautohaus | eBay

If you have a pre-LCI
BMW Progman V41 USB OBD Package Dis SSS Ncsexpert Inpa Ediabas | eBay

IF you have an LCI
BMW Progman V41 USB OBD Package Dis SSS Ncsexpert Inpa Ediabas | eBay

Kind of sounds like a cylinder issue like there is a misfire.
