My Ride: 2008 550I LOADED, all options except HUD and NV
I think all the shades of metallic blue on BMW's looks great and unique, I would have bought one myself but I bought CPO and couldn't find a blue one the way I wanted. They are great looking cars
DSB with Nat brown combo is awesome! I don't think I will ever get tired of this color.
My previous car was a black sapphire metallic with black leather interior and I just felt dead driving around in that..
As far as care/maintenance its pretty must the same as black cars.. I think scratches will show up but maybe not as badly as all black since most scratches tend to be whitish in color so that will stand out a lot more with a black background.

Thanks for all the responses and pictures. I really like the way the color looks. My dealer just never orders that color for the 5 so it looks like I will have to do a custom. With my current 5 expiring in October I presume I still have time. Is it possible to negotiate on the price of the car even if you are ordering one?
Thanks

A 5er takes approx. 6 to 8 weeks from order to delivery so if I were you I would be talking to a dealer right about now for your new order.
Pick up the confidential price list add up all your options and add +/- 500 - 1,000 for dealer profit and your good to go.

Here is mine.
I had a succession of silver , black and last a sliver gray 2005 545i. Love this change . Deep Sea Blue is stunning!!. Harder to keep clean than silver or SG, but oh so much easier than black.
Love the black interior w/ anthracite headliner. Much sportier than that grey headliner. Believe Anthracite headliner std now on 550i sport??
I special ordered mine for invoice plus $500.
Had not seen a DS Blue 550i prior to picking mine up on delivery day (see below).
Not many around either. I notice very few, although I tailed another DS Blue 550i yesterday.
Go For it!!

yo wont regret DSB.... in the showroom under florescent lighting i wuz skeptical at first but outdoors in the daylight its AMAZING!! yes its a dark colored car so maintaining it will be more difficult than say a lighter color (other than AW) but because there is metallic in the finish scratches/swirls wont show as badly if thats a major concern as it wuz for myself..... im quite satisfied overall wit this color choice!! natural brown is very classy & feels more luxurious over the sporty black interior.... just my $.02..... GL.
