I just purchased my new 530 (Black Sapphire Metallic, Black Leather, Prem Pkg, Sport, Xenon, Nav) a week or so ago, and just found this forum yesterday. Very cool! It's nice to find a place to share the excitement of 'our' new vehicles.

I'm trying to figure out what software version I have since there is much discussion regarding it. Ok, so I followed the advice on getting into the service menu (I had to turn on my car (put on seat belt to stop reminder), hold the trip/mileage setter for 15 secs or so, then used the 'check' button to cycle through) and found the following:

1.00 FGSTNR w/ a value of B803644 (I'm assuming this is the end of the VIN)

1.01 K-ZAHL W/T with a valuce of 76870/75920) any ideas?

1.02 BMWTNR w/ a value of 000006947357 and ideas?

1.03 COD DIA w/ a value of 0005H 06E0H and ideas?

1.04 KI HSTLDATUM w/ a value of 19.02.2004 (Assuming production date?)

1.05 HW AEI w/ a value of 0209H 0018H

1.06 SW with a value of 04.07.04 (would this be a date of software update???)

1.07 KODIERDATEN w/ a value of 06.02.12.06 (????)

1.08 CAN w/ a value of 00 11 150 (is this to be interpreted as software revision 11.15??????

Once you're on one of these areas, can you get submenus of of this? Meaning is there more to the eye on 1.08, etc.?????

Thanks for the help.

Sorry, don't know anything about the codes, but...I am waiting on an order for the exact same configuration and color combo (plus shades) that you just received. How does the black on black look? And does your navigation have voice command?

thanks,

Stu

It looks great! I'm very happy with the car. I have a Lexus GS300, and the touchscreen GPS is by far the best I've ever had. The BMW is a good second, but I won't ever by a car without it (my wife's new Expedition has a pretty good one also). I'm a pilot, so I love gadgets. I'm still getting used to this NAV unit.

The voice commands have worked flawlessly, and I haven't had a single problem with the car. Here's a picture.

I'd also like to know what these codes mean. I have the same issue. What do they mean?

I haven't had any luck decrypting these codes, but did find the secret menu that shows up in the iDrive /navigation monitor. Those software codes were as equally cryptic. I ended up talking to the dealer tech, and he said each module has it's own version code, and he knows of NO WAY to figure out what version you have without the computer.

I hardwired my Radar Detector up near the rear view mirror, and ended up unplugging the airbag passenger warning light. Now I have an airbag fault message that won't go away. In the morning, I have an appt. with the dealer to fix that, and he's going to let me know what version I have. I'll post what I find out.

Airbus 320? Wow. That's great. I wish I could get into that. I'm currently just instrument rated, and typically fly a 2003 Skyhawk. I also fly a 182...
