I am still in the market, but some new questions have come up.

E61's did not come with ZSP, correct? I dont mind about the suspension, as a good set of coilovers will fix that.... but it will not have 229/ARS/Dynamic drive.

Obviously this is a huge performance perk, sure I could upgrade front/rear bars, but it will not be as comfy as a Dynamic Drive system while cruising. I am looking at cars nearing the 100K mark.... seems that the ARS system can be prone to failures, what is the mean time of failure... is the risk of a pricey repair really worth the performance? Of course all reviews of the system are great, because they were all done when the car was new and not prone to failure. Will a traditional system be comparable with a trade off of comfort for reliability?

So lets say the ARS is a reliable performance feature, this takes me out of the E61 realm and back into the sedan world. This makes my selection much easier since wagons did not come with ZSP, thus no ARS.

I am pretty set on the n54 engine..... so 2008+

I have always done my own maintenance and repairs. Although I have found myself being less than motivated lately and had a indy change a window regulator on my Porsche..... so who knows.
