To me, the new M3 is a bit boring looking...sorry. 550 is great, but same as you have..little change. 335i, go drive one...not all they're cracked up to be (little slow), how about a used E63...yeah! RS4, nice! I love BMW but there are some nice cheap cars out there for consideration

Yep--sure there are many good cars. Too much brand loyalty in me though. I'd never swap my SA, the BMW service etiquette or the fact that the driving experience has been nothing short of incredible for me. Too much factor there to go look elsewhere.

Still your point is well taken...

As far as the boring looks part goes...

Life is far too short to always make the sensible choice.

Guys --- awesome replies...

So yes, space is not an issue as the other car is a 2007 X5. This will be my daily drive but I don't want to be boxed into a smaller engine after driving a V8 all these years.

The 535xi and the 550i, while refreshing and new experiences --> still are the same exterior and the same overall feel. Would I truly feel like I was in a new car and indeed a new experience? Maybe behind the wheel and with the new iDrive, but it looks and feels largely the same!!!!

I am leaning towards the 335 coupe or the M3 -- sucks to leave the E60 world though!!! So torn!!!!!!!!!
m3 or 335i coupe.

Life is far too short to always make the sensible choice. If we did, we'd all be driving a Camry.

What about these insurance issues??? Are they real? Do Ms cost more to insure? Is it related to higher value car? A fully loaded M3 comes close in value to a new fully loaded 550i so that seems a little weird!

+1. i am missing the boring part...

THIS is a boring car:

I think if the M3 were a person, it would kick your ass for calling it boring, because it looks like it could kick your ass. a boring car, like the buik lesabre would serve you tea.
