Then what was that diagram Luigi put up? Looked like it was built into the car? Guess I should have looked after they replaced mine.
Aftermarket batteries when spec'd for these cars will have it. You just can not go by physical size and amps but need to get a battery that is listed for the car. A lot of us have gotten aftermarket batteries to save cost, but they are still expensive.

You *really* need to have the vent tube connected. One byproduct of battery charging is Hydrogen gas. Hydrogen gas in an enclosed area is not a good thing. If there is a substantial buildup of H gas and then a spark, you'll have an explosion. This is a very real safety issue. Opening the trunk every couple days isn't an answer - you need the vent tube.

Can you blow up that jpg a bit? It's a bit hard to see with such a small picture.

WOW this is no joke guys! Here is an example of what happens if the hydrogen build up is too much and god forbid a spark occurs:

E60 GO BOOM!!!!!!!!
So I called up my local Midas that sold me the battery and they said that the vent tube for the MTP-93 Interstate battery was optional. Interstate was called by Midas immediately and they said they will deliver the vent tube by 4pm today and I can stop by for a free hook-up. Great company!!!!
P.S. - I ran to the parking lot and opened my trunk and tore open the battery compartment and started blowing. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Now I'm glad the dealer actually told me this because I would have never known.
Once again, proved HOW valuable this forum is. Where else you would have known about all this stuff....

Wow I had no idea! I am purposely leaving the vent tube out of the picture for mine... I can only pray this happens to me... Only bad thing I could see in the future come out of this is a V10 500HP M5
