this is the same problem i had when i bought my car on nov of 08, a little over two months!!! They replaced the steering rack, so they say..... now im haveing the same problem again when i turn left!!

my car was at the dealer for the same problem again and this dealership knows now what is klunking, ill post tomorrow what part they are going to change out!!! all i know is its part of the steering rack again!!!
This is the steering rack axle that is loose and makes the knocking sound (where the steering column connects to the steering rack)

so when the dealer is talking about replacing all the steering column, is that a part of the column? because a year ago or little longer I think they replaced the column, But I stil feel a knock when driving on a parking lot and turning the steering wheel on low speeds.

I looked at the BMW website and it said that steering is covered under CPO warranty. The word steering is too broad though. Maybe it is only covered once the car is not drivable because of the steering.
