My dealer rang today and confirmed that they have ordered the parts to retrofit High Gloss Shadow Line to my LCI 530d Sport which was delivered dechromed instead of HGSL.

They reckon they need the car for a couple of days to fit the trim so it is going in on Tuesday 8th.

Just picked up my LCI M-Sport today which also doesn't have the HGSL fitted. I am aware that this is happening to many people who are collecting their new LCI's at the moment. I've read in other posts on here that there is a production issue with the HGSL trim and that cars coming off the production line in March / April are not being fitted with it. A memo was apparently sent to BMW dealers to this effect.

What I don't understand is, if the HGSL trim is not available to be fitted at the time of production, how come this trim is available to be ordered for retrofit by the dealers - seems strange to me?

To be honest, I don't want this retrofitting because I can see more problems being caused than it's worth, with marks on surrounding paintwork appearing etc. I will however be pursuing some form of compensation as the spec clearly says this should be included!

The dealer is doing the upgrade out of their own pocket (I suspect they ignored the BMW advisory and just hoped no one would notice).I wouldn't expect to get the bits they take off.

I'm with you on this, I can see shonky work happening which would result in ongoing issues, I like my Matt finish but will be persuing compensation to the tune of ?285 + vat.

AFAIK ?285 includes VAT - unless you are VAT registered and feel like invoicing them for "supply of services"!!

dealers seem to be charging quite a large amount for this upgrade which ive seen done on a DIY here on this forum, research, and you will find it!
