Dealer Programmed Options + Inspection

What options can only be programmed by the dealer? My E46 M3, had the basics (daytime running lights, doors lock after 10 mph, etc.) But with iDrive I don't know what has to be programmed by the dealer.
Also, any hints on inspecting the car before taking delivery? That assumes I will be acting logically when I go to get it.

You can program everything with the iDrive except for the DRLs.
As for delivery, make sure there are no dents anywhere. Look at the car from many, many angles. Also, make sure all the Cosmoline is properly removed. Look carefully around the sideskirts. If the stuff is still there kindly ask your CA if they can have someone remove it. Cosmoline is the protective coating applied to all cars while in transatlantic transit.
