Keep in mind there is a specific procedure for the alignment and MOST wheel shops don't follow them. I've had several at Tire Kingdom and watched them, they don't do it. I asked and they were clueless so the Tech pulled it up on the machines computer and there is was! Clearly spelled out to them how much weight and where to put it and how much fuel the car should have in it. So he went and asked where the weights were and they said they don't have any. This was at three different TK stores in SC. I only used them because I had an alignment package that I could transfer, so I did. The car doesn't pull and I have no abnormal wear, but my steering wheel is off to the left slightly...

Here in San Antonio, there are only a small number of shops which have the right equipment to do an alignment on our cars. I just had mine done a few days ago from an independent shop and the result is very noticeable. Im not sure what the BMW shop wouldve charged but I am sure it wouldve been more than the $79 I paid!

Had my alignment done about a year and a half ago at a dealer in Arizona and they never/neglected to aligned my steering wheel. I recently had my rear tires swiched (not by dealer) because I noticed how the inside was wearing thin. Is this normal on sports pkg? ( the indy mofo's scratched and dented my flawless 166's but thats another story)
As far as dealers go, really it's a hit and miss. I hear some are great and some not so. Just be sure you have good communication with them (or anyone else really) on what to expect after the service is done.

A good BMW Indy is always helpful as is a good BMW Service Center ... Many post service and parts specials on their websites. Mine does: http://www.bmwofturnersville.com/bmw...2-si-3000.html
