I am thinkin to get the left over brand new 2010 E60 550i. The MSRP on the car is $68600 and the dealer gives me $58500 before tax and registration. What do you guys think about the price given? Thanks.

I would shoot for $3,000-$4,000 lower than that. These cars are all but worthless to the dealerships upon the new model release. If this is what they are offering you there is definitely wiggle room.

For comparisons sake, when the new 2010 E350 4matic came out, my brother bought a leftover 2009 fully loaded one with AMG kit etc. that stickered for $63,500~ for $46,800. They first offered $50,000.

This is a reasonable comparison, given they are competing cars.

Good luck on the purchase.

I agree. Times have really changed, and every day that the car sits there it keeps depreciating. Just don't let the dealer know you love the car, or they won't budge as easily... Good luck!

+ 1. Always start low and work your way up. If they offered you 58.5, start somewhere from 52.5 and work your way from there. They are losing a boat-load of cash letting it sit on the lot especially with a total platform change this year with the 5 series. Good lcuk!

Thanks guys for the input.

The sales person called me again yesterday and she mentioned the apr had reduced from 2.9% to 1.9% for 72 months.
I called back and told her that I'm firmed with 55K on the car.

This morning she called me again and left me a vm-she keeps mentioning the payment has reduced with 1.9% apr instead of discounting the car.

Give that you put taxes/fees down, and finance 55,000 for 72 months, the interest savings on 1.9% as opposed to 2.9% would be about $1700. ($3,238 total interest @1.9, $4989.66 @2.9). This is a decent deal. If the cash price of the car was 58,000 or 59,000, the interest savings would be slightly more. I would keep your offer of 1.9 and 55,000, they will eventually take it.

Good luck.

The funny part is, @55,000 the dealer is still making a ton of money on this car. I just thought i'd add that fact, as this car will be auction material when the F10s roll out again in September.
