Default dead key fob

Greetings everyone.
my key fob is dead for my 05 525. it is the diamond key fob and from what ive gathered it need to be charged.. or battery changed within the key (seen some youtube videos)
My last resort is a new key.

Ive also read that leaving it in the ignition on a long extended drive will charge it but that didnt do the trick. however the key was left in the door of the car for almost a whole day and it seemed to work.. sort of haha

What are my options.. do i have any besides new key?

thanks for your time!

Having same problem. Basically need a new key unless you are really good at putting the key back together cause it doesn't look like it was meant to come apart.

I paid $160 (no comfort access) for a new key for the same problem.
You can buy a battery and solder it in to the key after cutting it open.
IMHO, it's not worth to try to repair the key.
