A couple of you may remember that I sold my E60 and bought a 2010 CTS-V in the fall. At the time, i committed to changing the things on the car that i didnt like, which was mainly the shiny plastic and chrome that was everywhere. inside, outside, it seems that nothing was safe from chrome or shiny black plastic!

I started with the outside by having the window trim wrapped in matte black. Then I had the fog light bezels, fender vents and trunk trim painted body color. I still have to do the front grills but removal is a pita.

Last week, I had the interior done. I had the chrome on the A/C vents (yes, Chrome A/C VENTS!) and the entire shiny black console done and steering wheel done in matte black. i even had the chrome trim rings around the guages done in satin silver.

I have one more thing to do to the interior and will post results once complete.

Just thought I'd share with the board since i think it looks pretty good and I never would have even though of doing this kind of stuff had it not been for things I learned on here.

The first two pics are of what it looked like before (btw, these are not of my car):

Here is what it looks like now:

I'd have to see it in person to really judge it but from the photos I think it is a nice improvement. As I recall the CTS had blue "ambient" lighting. I bet it looks even better at dusk / dark when the ambient lights just start to glow.

I'd be curious to hear what the people at the dealer say when they get into the car....

Pics really do neither justice... The shiny trim reflected sunlight all over the place and was scratched simply by looking at it. IMO, it looks much, much better... Less like a typical American car.

A friend has the same car as me and he has yet to see it, so I'm curious what he says.

This for me as well. I've always thought that with appropriate application, chrome/silver adds good accent.

The original Back plastic pieces that you changed scratched up way to fast for nothing. I think it looks good. I do not like the carbon fiber "look" pieces but I never liked them in any car. I think it looks good.

Forget the interior, let's see pics of the car outside. Any wheels or performance mods yet?

No performance mods yet.

My clutch is going to be replaced (apparently faulty from factory) and I'm not doing a thing to it until then. I know what I'm doing I just have to wait.

Wheels are another story. There are not a lot of semi affordable options... The offset and hunormous brakes make it difficult to find wheels without spending 5 bones.
I think I have decided on 20" gunmetal forgestar f14s...
