My Ride: 2004 BMW 530i - no mods. Pretty basic really. I mean it has tires, windows, and a sweet look, what more could a man want? Honestly, I'd like to improve the sound system mildly, and possibly find a worthy engine mod that would increase my BHP by 100 without giving an arm and a leg for. I don't think it's out there, so I'll stay stock and love driving my 530i.

I had a question that I'm hoping someone could shed some light on. I drive a 04 530i and the other day I was feeling a little, well ugh... I just wanted to open the car up from a stop - one of those 0-45 mph take offs. Anyway I noticed when stomping down on the throttle my DSC light starting blinking a warning light (DTC) for the duration I was on the throttle. Once I was off the throttle the warning light turned off. Now what I was wondering is this normal? Does the DSC sense this and for the duration I'm being hard on the e60 turns off for DTC?

Thanks,
-Jay

Try turning it off the next time and see if you notice the difference, it's just your car trying to help you.... when sometimes you dont want it to..............

Thanks. I don't mind the car helping out time to time, it's just I never seen it do this before. I've been truning it off more recently due to the damp wet streets, but I just wanted to make sure this was normal behavior. I'm presume it's suppose to behave this way, which is a good thing I guess.

The blinking light indicates the system is actively functioning at the moment.

Yes this is normal... seems you rarely go hard on your E60

Yeah, I have my days. I typically don't stomp it from a stop. I'll get a slow roll going before I get awn it. Thanks and I'm glad to hear everything is working as designed.
