+1 ... but from visibility point of view what you called "classic" or pre-LCI AE is not design to be the DRL so visibility is very minimal during the day.

i have 2005 e60 with classic angel eyes (parking lights ON. Without day running light). Day Running lights was instaled from 2008. My question is, if it is possible to instaled that day running lights on my e60.

Only LCI cars have that while the pre-lci ones don't. (I think you have to go the dealer to reprogam the DRL but not sure).
Yes, i something hear, that is is possible via reprogram, but i dont if it is true. Nobody test it?

Nope I have 2007 and have option in my iDrive to turn on/off DRL, you may need to go to the dealer to have it programmed ... BUT as you probably already know the DRL on pre-LCI is the inner light (high beam) NOT the halo ring like on the 2nd pic ... on the LCI their DRL become the AE.

I have Day Running Lights on my 2004 535d. When turned on in the i-Drive, the Day Running Lights come on if the light switch is in the auto-lights position. On my car (a pre-LCI car) when they are on, it is the dipped beam that is on - i.e. normal night time lights.
I would like to change this so that the angel eyes come on (sidelights) instead of the dipped beam - the same as the LCI models. Is this possible? Can it be re-programmed?

I have DRL's on my 2005 (option in iDrive on/off) but it's not the Angel Eyes - it's the high beams at half power. Don't know if the AE's come on during the day - I try not to stand in front of my car when it's running.
