Hi
Just bought an E60 3.0i 2004 model and soon after discover the following defects:
Angel eye on passenger side failed 2 days after I bought the car. Can the bulb be easilly replaced without an expensive visit to BMW?
Rattle from dashboard in the area of the headlamp switch, this seems to stop if light hand pressure applied to the immediate area, hopefully it's just a screw loose.
Any advice on these 2 issues would be most appreciated.
Otherwise first week with BMW E60 has been a dream. Last car was an Opel Vectra so I guess it was not too hard to be impressed.
Thanks,
Alex

Once upon a time it had chrome wheels... 'til i joined this forum :)
I'm hoping your warranty isn't expired? If not, I had the same dashboard rattles which were fixed under warranty (replaced headlight switches, steering wheel buttons, and applied felt tape to the front of the dash to take care of the rattles behind the iDrive screen). I had a hell of a time trying to replicate the noises at the dealer, but I eventually got everything to rattle. Also, I think there were a SIB's for these, but not sure. As far as the angel eyes, why not upgrade to aftermarket ones and install them yourself?

Welcome to the board Don't forget to update your location in your personal settings (so people know where you are from when you post, as it makes a difference on the answers you'll get due to regional differences in specification), and also set a signature with car details

I have the same annoying dash rattle...seems like behind the idrive screen but can't pinpoint it. How did you apply this felt tape and to where exactly may I ask?
I have the same thing - seems to be coming from just below the idrive screen, around the heater switches. I thought I had left a cd in the player and it was that which was rattling but alas no.

do a search on this in the forum. Members have had this problem before. There is even a PDF notice that pinpoints the problem to strut bolts gone bad. I have the same problem (along with door seal noises) that I am going to the dealer to fix next week.
Will keep you notified on how it turns out.

Well it's fixed now by the dealer with some kind of BMW oil...
A other rattle that I sometimes have heard in my car comes from the "panel" that is above the light switches.
It has been quiet now after I gave it some punching...
