I've recently developed a problem where I get no airflow into the car. I've checked the iDrive climate control, wheels on the dashboard, the cabin filters, recirculation setting, fan off/on button, etc. but nothing seems to be amiss. The A/C light lights when you push it, but I feel no cool air. Could it be a fuse of some sort? I get no noise when I turn the fan speed dial at all. Does anyone have a clue as to what may be going on here?

Take out the cabin filter out and check if the hole(in to the interior) in the cabin filter is blocked

Thanks for the reply, but just replaced the cabin filter a few months back and all that was thoroughly inspected.

I'm suspecting that it's something electrical. The fuse is okay, so it's either the blower motor or, as some research uncovered, maybe the resistor.

Usually causes of inoperative fan are: worn out brushes on fan motor or Final Stage Resistor (FSR) failed (as noted above).

Both require the fan to be removed in order to repair. If cause is FSR, I highly recommend that the fan is replaced at the same time. Ask me how I know.

Are you talking about the dash vent right above the AC controller? Mine did this after I did the CIC retrofit. It turns out, the middle plug on the AC unit\controller was not plugged in all the way. All AC functions worked except for blowing air out of the center dash.

It sounds more like a fan problem. Usually, if it was the FSU the fan would still operate but would not be adjustable. E.g. low or full blast and wouldn't change even if you change the dial.

Either way, you have to change both (at least that's what's recommended). You can find both brand new for a very reasonable price. I bought a brand new FSU for $50. It is also a job you can do yourself, if you enjoy a good DIY. If you are not a DIYer then don't attempt because it involves a lot and is very tedious.

I think you're right-on, Gee. The fan doesn't turn at all. My indie thinks it's the blower motor, so I'm going to let him take a look tomorrow. I viewed some of the YouTubes online about repairing this problem and don't think it's something I want to hassle with. Knowing me, I'd screw something up.
