Actually magpie is a very intelligent bird. It's close to a crow. They are nuts about everyhing shiny. Magpies use to collect spoons etc in to their nests. Whatever they can get. Maybe it was trying to collect my e60 !

Still, I can't hate them after this. But cats are pretentious, they do everything just to please themselves. How despisefull is that...

I'm not sure I can keep up with all the subthreads - especially the one involving the hood of the Volvo. Nice one.

But I wanted to add to the main thread that I have a couple of crazy cardinals living nearby. To pass the time of day, they hook their little talons on the trim at the bottom of the window and then viciously attack the image in the side view mirror. Then just to make sure they've made their point, they poop down the side of the car.

Since they chase the cardinals, I like the local cats.
