... I can understand why BMW NA no longer offers Individual Program on the regular 5 series.
It's much more than just colors.
You can easily add 100K on Individual options to the car.
I would allow my customers to spend their money on my products...

So the bottom line appears to be that the salesguy at the dealer here is mistaken about my being able to order a custom color because BMW Individual is not available in the U.S. Correct?

To the OP:
Best bet might be to email a few dealerships in the area with your special paint order and see what they say, as it seems no one here can give you a straight answer (including myself)
Keep us posted please...

This has to do with different factors, such as the possibility/right to step out of the contract. Then the dealer would have a car with "goofy" options he couldn't sell.
Since BMW Individual does exist, there must be a way to order it. But I guess your dealer would need to oder a c ar, and sent his Individual order to the factory, not to BMW NA. And he would probably make you pay for it in advance, so you can't just step out of it.
Besides this "speculaton" there are allways Individual options available through regular BMW AG sales. Such as the high gloss shadow line, which can be ordered without Individual, but is an Individual option.
My guess is, that the paint option is one of those that are made available for the US, but the dealers have to know about and have to have the guts to order them.

But since I'm not in the US this is all just wild speculation!
