Hello!
I do not yet own an E60 but am looking to buy one in the next year or two, starting my test drives and research now. I've been an active member of the forums related to the cars I drive for many years now and have always said "man I wish I knew xyz before buying my car" about something related to the car, and want the 5-series I buy to be the best it can be for the money.
Does anyone have a link to exacting model year differences - things like transmission/engine differences, fixed glitches, features added, styling changes, color options, etc, from 2004-present? I know the basics but want to to know the details. I guess you could say I'm looking for an E60 time line.![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
I'm glad I found this forum - the other BMW forums seem to be all 3-series talk and little 5-series knowledge.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

I sometimes regret buying things after I get it after seeing other options. This hasn't been the case with the e60, I'm really glad I got it and am a relatively new owner. Now the question is which e60 model you should get and your price range for one, new vs used and what you want out of the car.

e60.net also provides info regarding engine and other specs on the e60's thru the years via

to the forum. GL with your research and possible purchase. As stated previously, the upper right search bar is a helpful tool...

I am familiar with forums and searching, but since I'm diving into such a large, unknown body of knowledge for me I was looking for some point to start instead of just searching random topics. But, now I'll read through this, start to make some decisions, and search for the details (things like the SMG transmission, nav issues, etc).
Thanks again everyone! I'm sure I'll be a lurker on here for quite a while. I'm between the 5-Series and the A6. I think the A6 has a better interior but the BMW's drive and overall package takes the cake.
Then there is the A4, which was just re-designed to be much roomier, and might throw a wrench into my search. But that's the fun of it.

There are few Audi converts on this forum (including myself- B6 S4 here). I was contemplating between the A6 and e60 myself. Test drove both, you see what I chose, no regrets or complaints here. GL with your purchase decision.
