Cruisecontrol are not standard here in Norway. The cruisecontrol follow with the Advantage package..
Sound like BMWHK are coning us and making us to buy the dame think, not much use in HK
cos we have the CC in our car as standard BUT ther are only 3 roads that can use it in HK and most people may not go on them.
I dont know what BMW is doing with other places, sound very silly for you guys not to have the CC when there are alot of motorways like UK and only 3 in HK

Cruise control with brake function comes as standard across the 5 series range here in Malaysia.

From: www.Worldcarfans.com search 2007 BMW X5 (New BMW X5 Unveiled: In Detail , Page 9 ? Features)

Another feature on the new BMW X5 is Dynamic Cruise Control with brake function. It acts on the engine management, the gear selected, and the brakes in order to precisely keep the speed set by the driver. Constantly registering the car?s lateral acceleration, Dynamic Cruise Control also recognizes when the X5 is in a bend and reduces the speed of the car accordingly. To keep the vehicle at the right speed when driving downhill, and also when towing a trailer, the system will intervene with the brakes if required.

(This feature is Standard on E60s-(2008 models in USA)( Do not Know in Non-US BMWs)

I don't think that's quite right...I believe I have the DCC on my 2008 LCI 535i and it does have the stalk mounted activation lever incorporation several cruise control features in the stalk...otherwise there would be no way to activate it or select a speed to cruise at.

I have 2008-E60 , Do not have any activation stalk/button/Switch...,works automatically
That's BS, the DCC has a stalk too, just like CC. I also features a wheel on which you chose the distance to the car in front of you.

What would it else do if there was no car in front of you? Continue up to top speed?

Sorry but I do not agree. DCC is not ACC. DCC is something new. It just breaks automatically in curves.

Pre LCI:
CC
ACC

LCI:
CC with break function, keeps the car at set speed even in downhill.
ACC with break function, above + in the 'active' case means it can slow down to standstill.

OK. That is clear.

E70 X5 (and some here say that also LCI) has a new type of system called DCC. Which is normal DCC with breaking, but it also automatically breaks when it senses bends.

Either way I'm mostly interested in aqkhan6us's MACC (Magic Active Cruise Control); which also can read your mind...
