I was using the cruise control this last weekend and learned something new. The fob on the the wheel can move in 4 directions: Up, Down, Toward Driver, Away from Driver. This I knew. What I didn't know, was when pushing away from the driver, their are two functions. Similar to the turn signal, when you push lightly, the cruise control increases in 1 mph increments. If you push past the first stopping point, the cruise control increases in 5 mph increments. This was a nice feature when you have slowed down with the fob and you want to set a faster speed quicker.

I didn't know if this has been address before, so I thought I would post.

We discussed this a long time ago and I think it's in the manual.

One minor correction -- pushing the stalk past the stopping points doesn't increase or decrease in 5mph increments, it takes the car to the next 5mph increment. In other words, if you're cruising at 98mph, pushing the stalk forward two clicks will increase you to 100mph, not 102mph. It doesn't simply add or subtract 5mph...

Good point.

I guess I should stop driving and maybe read the manual.

I rarely use CC even if I am driving 400 interstate miles. Maybe for a minute or two to just to stretch my leg. I actually hate the feeling of moving without my foot on the throttle.

I'm a die-hard cruise-controller

using cruise control is not only the best way to prevent speeding tickets, it's also very relaxing, not just physically!

even in 70 or 90 km/h zones I use it frequently
some people say you can only use it on the highways with close to no traffic but thats's because they are just not used to using it
once you get the hang you can use it almost constantly and had so many advantages over pedaling yourself

people who don't use it often cannot argue with me on this because they can't compare!

I wanted active-CC but had to drop it because not yet combinable with the M-sports-package and the standard Bangle look is not what I like about the E60

grtz,
Destiny

I also use it always when possible. Then I can keep moving my bad leg (right) and same time avoid "accidental" speeding.

Also works the opposite way--pulling towards you decreases speed by 1 or 5 mph.
