That is weird. I think in Europe it is standart ???
However I wanted to retrofit CC to my Audi couple of years ago and it is really pain in the a$$ to do it if not impossible. You have to messe up a lot of cars electronic, I mean a lot

Wierd the car wasn't born with the cruise control!
I know for sure that on Audi's A6, A4, they only install the buttoms for the cruice control, and the load a new software into the car... It would probally be the same on the E60...
On the E46 and E39, the cruice control is in every car from factory. But you can only use it if you got the multi function steering wheel!
