ummm almost 14000 miles and very minor cracking sounds, well coming from a lowered M3 anything sounds quieter?

anyway, here is my list of defects/cracking stuff:
1- Both front pillars cloth were pealing up? <--replaced by dealer
2- Front brakes squeaked a bit? (13500 miles)? <-- Dealer fixed them
3- Windows making cracking sounds? (5000miles)? <- dealer lubricated windows, not more noise since then.
4- Driver buckle makes noise? <- determined it was making noise with the belt of my pants. so when I? wear shorts it doesn't make noise?

Thas is it!.. no other noises coming from anywhere? ? well,I forgot to mention the rattle in the rear seat but I think that is because of all the toys my sons have dropped there?

What dealer did you use for your window creaking? I am in south florida also and my dealer hasnt fixed it completely yet.

1400km on the clock and I have a surround sound rattling/squeaking noise from all doors.

I did a search and found out this is a common problem. Being a long weekend here... I probably wont be able to get to the dealer by next wednesday... by then I would have gone crazy driving around with the noise.

After the reading the TSB that someone posted and I looked at the 'flock' material and wondering why it would cause such noise. Then I started to poke around and found that by pressing on the rubber weather seal (on the door frame) I could re-create the noise that I heard.

I read somewhere that don't use silicone lub...so I used wd40 on the driver side door and the noise is gone...for now.

I hope the wd40 wont eat into the rubber ! It doesnt say dont use on rubber. At least I didn't use kentucky jelly

I thought I'd share this in case the TSB procedures don't work for you.

and a picture paints a thousand words.... this is where I put the WD40

It doesn't say you can use it on rubber. As far as I could research, WD40 is not good for rubber. Better to use a non-oil based lubricant.

Its all good now. Spent no more that 20 minutes at the dealer. They sprayed Carbaflo on the seals on all 4 doors. All creaks and rattles are gone! I am enjoying the ride again. Actually driving more without the radio or CD. Puts me in touch with the car.

BTW They hope that the next version of the software will be out in a month.

I've started to hear a few squeaks and rattles from my E60. I guess its caused by the cold weather we're starting to get.

Sound is coming from the rear of the car and also the passenger seat. Maybe the comfort seats with ventilation is the cause??? Some loose fans or something

Have to get it checked out when free.

I went to the dealer today to have all the doors garbaflo'd

I also picked up the rather expensive garbaflo and the silicone remover to avoid future trips to the dealer becoz of creaks and rattles etc.

On the way home, I started to hear noise again from the door!!!!...

It turned out to be the sun visor rubbing against the headliner...sounded like it was coming from the door. It's very annoying as it was coming at ear level. I put the sun visor back into its 'docked' position and noise is gone.

there are a few minor rattles coming from the back... I tried to stuff the rear shelf but the occasional ticking noise and rattles are still present. But I can live with that if it doesn't get worse.

1800km on the dial...... looking forward to explore the upper end of the tach after the break-in. Gas mileage has settled in at 23.9mpg (70% highway) but I've been quite gentle with the throttle.

still quite happy with the car so I gave it a bath
