Actually try crashing a Japanese car they cost just as much to repair now. My friend hit another driver from behind in her Lexus and all it did was scratch up the bumper and dislocated 1 fog light, no internal bumper damages and her bill is $3K. Basically for a bumper replacement and to fix the fog light.
a 1999 toyota camry front bumper replacement and 1 head light $1500 back in 2001. How is that cheap?

Sorry about the accident but it sounds like you have more to worry about with the Insurance saying your name is not the insurance. That sounds messy.
Honda, Toyota, etc costs just as much per hour to repair as BMW although the parts mught be a little more but the labor rates are the same based on an hourly rate.
I have always made sure that I get to know good body shops, Indy repair shops and great suspension shops. Since I am a car nut it only pays to get to know them and send them business so that they take care of me in the future.

Bummer man. I hope you're OK. I crashed a 911 back in '95 and it cost $11K to replace right, rear quarter panel and engine lid with whale tail. German cars are expensive to repair. G/L with the insurance.
