My Ride: E61 525iA Build 2004/08. "Safirschwartz Metallic". Navi Pro, Adaptive Headlights, Bi-Xenon, Panorama Sunroof etc... CIP 18.00.01 (No noticed bug)

I know this is a E60-forum, but I just must give you this (I don't want it to happen to my E60); The King of Sweden today crashed with his M3 (no injuries)! After the crash he immediately moved over to the secret service car escorting him.
He is known to be a car lover and has several BMW:s.

Ouch, you always hate to see wrecks! But if there was another car involved, at least you know the King should not have any problems paying for damages!

It's a CSL for sure!
The damage isn't too big!
it's great that the king loves bmws...but indeed the CSL is a monster of a car so if you act carelessly or treat it with disrespect it punishes you!

Yes! It's a ?03 CSL with 300 hp:s and he paid apx 100 K$ for it. Some other of his cars (he wont need a loaner ):

Volvo PV '46 (from when he was born)
Porsche 911 Targa '74
Pontiac GTO cabriolet '66
de Tomaso Pantera '71
Ford Mustang Shelby
Daimler Limousine
BMW M5 E28
BMW M5 E39

I also read about a guy that met the king in some car-event and they actually started to talk (he sure knows what he is talking about):

"Excuse me your Royal Highness, do you still own a M5?".
He replied "What? M5?"
I had to explain the question a little more; "Do you have a BMW M5?"
"Yes, I do and I?ve had three of them earlier. I was at the local dealership last Friday and asked about details on the new M5."

A little bit nervous I asked "What do you think about the new M5? Are you going to purchase one?". He replied "I think it has too much technology, I liked them better when they were just raw engine, as the first M5". I nodded and said "Yes, I agree with you".

(Who knows - he might be a registred member of E60.net....)

Gustav, one of the moderators over on m5board, has spoken to the King. He (Gustav) drove his M5 over to the palace to see if the King wished to see it, but the King declined (on this occasion I believe it was passing letters and not a face to face dialog). But it was a nice trip story with the M5 complete with lots of pics.

What makes it look like a CSL? Is there something that sets it apart (in appearance)?

looks like a CSL also

Wheels, front spoiler, rear decklid. And if we got up close, a hell of alot more than that as well.

The very characteristic, classic CSL front with the left-hand air intake, which I guess is the only clear indication that this is a CSL. Though, the rims are also CSL-specific rims.

AFAIK the king has bought this car used with ~25 000 km at the time of purchase.
