also appreciate your opinion on the logic - I'm something of a hi-fi buff and have been disappointed with the Harmon Kardon effort in the 3er. Is it really worth the extra money??

It sounds good on FM and CD.
Nice rich full sound whether it?s loud or not.
The only consern is the am crackling.
I am still waiting for a response from the dealer.
He told me the same is true with another on he has on the lot.
He will investigate further.
