If this is three or more weeks after the fact, I would balk. Any such notation to you should have been made before the work was started. Barring that, it would be inexcusable, IMO, for such a post mortem billing at this late date. Why not when the car was picked up and what about all that overspray crap.

They didn't mention any chip mark in the windshield before, did they?

 

You?re absolutely right. They didn?t mention anything when I left the car there nor did they mention anything when I picked it up!

Thought I would enjoy a couple of problem free car owning years when I bought my first new BMW.

Talked to my dealer today about the invoice. He was embarrased and told me to throw it away. He said it was a mistake to bill me for that.
