Cracked wheel

I was caught in traffic on I 64 and ran over a grate in the road. It caused a longitudinal crack in the wheel of my 2004 530i (s). Fortunately the car is great and handled very well to get me to the side of the road. I have never heard of a crack - actually the entire wheel split. Has this happened to any one else?

seems like today is very bad for many bmw owner having some many problems with rims , cause you are not the only one posting today about it , just hope you are allright.
