Driving to DMS today, a Farm tractor went in the opposite direction and threw a rock at my screen.

What started as a 2 inch crack, had turned into a 'bottom to top' crack within 2 hours.

Autoglass appointment arranged for Wednesday in Swindon, at cost of my ?50 excess.

I mean.......................FARMERS......who needs them, .................
what have they ever done for us...............apart from growing all the food we eat that is !

Oh and raising all the meat we eat......................but what other use are they !!

Yeah, I feel your pain. Driving to work, I got hit by a small rock that a truck kicked up. Fortunately, I was taking an exit and wasn't going all that fast. I saw him and made it a point to stay well away from him but still got smacked in the windshield.

Been there...it has happened twice on my E46 and once on the E60.
This is one of the reasons I took up BMW Top Cover insurance - unrestricted windshield replacement, replacement car, no cost, no bonus loss. At 700euros a piece for the HUD windshield - it's a peace of mind.

<< wasn't going all that fast. >>

Likewise, only 40mph. Sounded like the car had been shot at !

Impact was right at the bottom of the glass almost behind the wiper, it's amazing that it got to the glass there rather than the wiper arm.

Not my day I guess.
