Our temperatures fluctuate here from +35C in the summer to -35C in the winter and I never had any carcking issues with mine. As for the batches being different color, I have this issue with mine and had the dealer order new door handle pieces for me and they were worse than what I started with. I currently have anthracite maple but the door handles on the front doors don't really look anthracite they are more brown in color.

I got a quote a while ago for mine:

51456951044 dark poplar RH dash cover
223.00
All I can say is that it will be the same color but may not be the same shade and grain. It should be close enough.
plus shipping

Probably more now, but still a good price and a DIY fix. Check the DIY board for instructions.

i had my '05 545 in socal for a year then took to denver, co for a temporary move in the months mar-may....while there with temp fluctuations from 15-90F mine cracked in two places...right smack in the middle of the passenger seat above the glove box, and another near the gear shifter.....

Thanks everyone for the helpful information. I am going to wait until we get out of the coldest part of the Winter before fixing this. It would be terrible to replace it and have it crack again.

As an aside, when I test driving E60's 3 years ago I came across 2 that had cracked trim pieces. Until now, I thought the prior owners were sloppy and careless, how wrong I was!
