My Ride: 2004 545i Sport, Premium, Cold Weather, Ipod, 35% Tinted windows
Greetings all, new to the forum and a new owner of a 2004 545i Sport recently purchased. So here's my story... I purchased the 2004 545i from a BMW dealer here in Chicago. The can had approxmiatly 39,300 miles on it when I bought it which was about 2 weeks ago. During the course of driving it up till thursday a this week a number of issues have arisen as follows:
1) DSC Malfunction- Apparently the owner before had this issue at 11,000 as he left a service reciept in the manual, but BMW never fixed as they could not replicate. Now I have a faulty sensor
2) Driver's cupholder was sticking real bad. Minor but still annoying.
3) When turning left there was a clunking noise. Apparently some kind of stablizer sensor issue.
4) Rough idling. Spoke with technician and said if it had been sitting on the lot for awhile it could have caused this.
5) CD in dash skipping when going over bumps.
6) Front A pillar on passenger side fabric is starting to come off.
So keeping all this in mind I looked at the CPO certfied checklist and am wondering how did all this get past the certification process. What do you guys think?

Interesting points but I can share something you might find helpful. When I bought my first BMW, a CPO 1998 328i convertible, I was so excited that I really didn't look the car over too well before signing. After picking it up I found a tear in the passenger seat and the rear bumper was nicked up pretty badly. Guess I just didn't notice. When I called and complained to my SA at BMW of Manhattan, he took care of both problems no questions asked and at no charge. I think you just need to be polite and ask. Hey, you never know.

Thanks for the feedback. I have taken it back to the dealer and they are working to resolving the issue. I spoke with the sales advisor and they should have the car ready next tuesday. It is so true about being excited and not looking over. I am more than thrilled with the car and love the way it drives, just upset that I am without her for 5 days and to see a number of issues in such a short time. Fortunatly I will have her back soon.

Welcome to the Forum.
Congratulations on the car.
All of those items should have been fixed before they Certified it. There is a service bulletin on the rough idle.
I hope they get all of those items fixed.
Good luck.
