By the same logic, stick a g-meter in 550 and with similar amounts of practice it's reasonable to assume that in time you will beat the magazine numbers as the 545 owners seem to have done.

Thats what I'm thinking... its all relative...

I'm not your relative.

Anyway, I finally got around to reading the G-Meter manual after all this time. I found out that we haven't been using the rollout feature.

Znod and grogan545i, do the both of you use this feature?

The way I launch it is Left foot on brake right foot on gas... I let off the brake fairly fast and as let off I feed gas... Kinda like driving a manual and letting out the clutch... Seems to be working for the IS so its ok for me.

If Brian Will let me I'll would like to try to do one or two launchs on a 550 and see how it goes...

Your launch technique sounds almost like mine. After releasing the brake I do not hammer the throttle to the floor, but push it to the floor in one motion(about .5 sec). This method has given me the best times.I can even get great times with DTC/DSC engaged.

I'm betting you can. Less gas. No spare. cold weather... under 5 for sure. I bet my IS can get under 5 too... I had too much gas in the car this time and still have the spare and all carpet in the car including the tunk carpet matt... thats heavy.
I run with all normal equipment in the car.I do not remove the spare, but do try to have less than 1/2 tank of gas.

If you did not set this feature in your GT2,the default value is 12".Both Zman and myself use the 12" rollout setting. This most closely imitates drag strip conditions(the stage beams are 12" apart). In order to use something other than 12" you must go into the program mode and change it.I tried using 0 rollout when I first started testing. All times were approx. .3 secs longer.

So it really doesnt make "that much" of a difference... meaning our 545s and 550s here should be getting MUCH better times than 5.7 <_<

Ok, so I don't have to modify the rollout setting. Leave it at default of 12". Man, I thought that it was 0 and by adjusting it to 12" my times would've been better.

I guess the next question would be pitch settings. I remember Znod mentioning we should've made changes. Is the pitch the same for the 545/550? I'm sure it's different for the IS350. I'm doing a search right now...

My best run with 0 rollout was 5.35 sec 0-60.But this was early in my testing.I am sure I can lower that some. The most noticable time diff is at 60'.It is consistently about .3 sec longer with 0 rollout.I agree you should see better times than 5.7.I really have to screw up a run to get a time of 5.7.Even with a lot of wheelspin I can usually get a 5.5.

I have my pitch setting at 2.0 which is the default setting.I do not have the sport package so this setting sounds correct for the standard suspension.I believe Znod uses a slightly lower pitch setting because of the sport suspension.I believe the IS 350 should be at 2.0 also. This setting doesn,t make a big difference compared to the rollout setting.

Here you go g-manster. Got to it today after all--between x and y.

Calculate Density Altitude:

Your results:
Air Temp 57 (?F)
Altimeter Setting 29.94 (in)
Dew Point 57 (?F)
Altitude 400 (Feet)
Density Altitude 553.1 (feet)

Correct 1/4 mi. Timeslip to Sea Level:

Your results:
Density Altitude 553.1 (feet)
Uncorrected ET 13.56 (sec)
Uncorrected MPH 104.2 (mph)
Corrected ET 13.481
Corrected MPH 104.82

Correct 1/4 mi. Timeslip to New Density Altitude:

Your results:
E.T. 13.481 (sec)
Trap Speed 104.82 (mph)
Measured DA 553.1 (feet)
Corrected to 500(feet) DA
Corrected ET 13.474 (sec)
Corrected Trap Speed 104.879 (mph)
Corrected 0 -60 5.064 (sec)--My excellent estimate

Good one g-man. The weather helped you a tad. I looked back; it is one of your 5 best on an adjusted basis. So, give me a few days and I will substitute it in and change your average here. I still plan to get a few more in before the good old hot weather is gone.
Thanks Zman. Can't wait for some better weather so we can both try to improve our times.
