IIRC, the E60 has a rear subframe that can be replaced, screwed on to the main frame. If you want your car to be totalled, speak with your Service Advisor. Hopefully, if you got it good with him, and he got it good with his technician, they can convince the Insurance Adjuster that there is indeed main frame damage and total the car. All the tech has to say is that the rear subframe did not bolt directly into the frame as OEM, and the car is totalled.

Sorry to hear of you "encounter" with stupidity. Glad to hear you are basically okay and now of course shopping for a new BMW isn't all that bad a task is it?? I hope it all gets sorted out quickly!!
